Edwyn Collins Live: Hero reloaded?
Tuesday night played Edwyn Collins in the neatly filled Schorndorf Manufaktur in his modest three-gig tour of Germany. If you know that the British deserved hero pop history suffered two severe strokes and now has ventured a cautious comeback, you think about in advance, of course, is whether there is really in it is required, because if makes a concert more like a therapeutic measure, the entertainment value, but mostly low.
My concern, however, were quite fast from the table (actually, even with the casual Motown intro, hobbled to the Collins with a walking cane on the stage), other visitors did do seem to be heavier. Collins suffered right-sided paralysis and even to clear his voice no longer refers to its former size. What then is not too bad, because he appears on stage to feel no discomfort. He sits on an amp and have the lyrics sometimes has read, yet definitely fun, the audience undoubtedly.
has given himself reinforced with a quite brilliant band, which controls part close to the edge muckermäßigen pigs Rocks along to keep the balance but it can. The left guitarist looked as if he had once played with The Cult, the right must have been times in the early Allman Brothers. Boz Boorer keyboardist known by the Polecats and Morrissey, on drums, Paul Cook was the incarnate of the Sex Pistols - and it was actually really good, looked relatively fresh.
Collins moves on the tour in family circles, his wife is his tour manager and a song was allowed to sing along with his teenage son. All in all, not just a flawless rock and roll situation, but that did not matter soon, because the man is simply great songs on the box. From the new album "Losing Sleep" fallen had with their gruff Northern Soul-Touch really well, and of course were also some old Orange Juice classics in a funky style and of course his only real hit "A Girl Like You".
I enjoyed very much that the central actor is on stage, not to be overlooked handicap, can not deny, that has changed about the timelessness of his music but sometimes nothing at all.
